The Variable Volume Reservoir

Hydraulic systems very often rely on reservoirs that are too large and too heavy. The VVR addresses these issues by offering a light, efficient and eco-friendly technology. Inspired by the bootstrap oil reservoir used in aerospace. The VVR was created to replace conventional atmospheric reservoirs in numerous applications.

Acknowledging the opportunity for improvements, we created a reservoir capable of reducing oil volume, weight, costs, pollution and potential environmental damage while providing a system that improves the overall performance and durability of the hydraulic network.

By virtue of its light-weight design and very small reservoir, the VVR provides economic and performance advantages versus traditional reservoir.

Light

The VVR has the ability to replace conventional reservoirs, which are considerably larger and weights hundreds of pounds. A 7-liter VVR measures 12 x 24 inch and weighs 36 pounds including the oil, the 14-liter version measures 12 x 46 inch and weighs 66 pounds while the 27-liter version measures 22 x 28 inch and weighs 120 pounds.

Efficient

Being sealed, air less and slightly pressurized, the VVR will supercharge your pump and improve its performance and durability. Keeping oil clean is a key factor, as oil contamination is known to cause 80% of hydraulic system failures.

Eco-friendly

As the oil in a VVR is never exposed to the environment and its contaminants, it will last 3 to 5 times longer than in a conventional reservoir. A VVR will require only 7, 14 or 27 liters of oil to replace a reservoir using several hundred liters. Due to modest oil needs, users will be able to afford the use of bio-degradable oil without it affecting their budget.

Our system can be installed on new equipment or retrofitted on existing one. Retrofitting is simple as the VVR is always much smaller than the conventional reservoir it replaces.
